Our programs are coached by some of the most experienced endurance sports coaches in Chicago, led by 4 Star Endurance Head Coach Chris Navin who is a 22-time Ironman and 17x TeamUSA qualifier. Our coaches have a wide range of certifications including American Red Cross Water Safety, Adult Learn to Swim (ALTS), USA Swimming, US Masters Swimming, American Swim Coaches Association (ASCA), USA Triathlon (USAT), and IRONMAN U certified coaches.

We host Adult Learn to Swim (ALTS) programs for beginners, TriDot Pool School camps for triathletes, freestyle-focused Swim Technique classes for intermediate-to-advanced swimmers, private lessons, underwater Swim360 video analysis, and we even offer Chicago’s most comprehensive Tri312 Triathlon Training programs which include the Chicago Triathlon‘s TEAM TO END AIDS (T2) charity training program!

What is the “Skyline Swim”
& Ohio Street Beach Swim Club?

Chicago’s SKYLINE SWIM is quite simply the iconic “must-do” swim from Ohio Street Beach near Navy Pier all the way past the Hancock Tower at one of the most popular and best open water swimming venues in the world – right in the heart of downtown Chicago! There are few places in the world where you can swim along the entire urban skyline to admire the architecture of one of the world’s largest cities!

Our SKYLINE SWIM SCHOOL is based out of the Lakeshore East neighborhood in downtown Chicago, providing indoor group and private swim lessons at our local health club (Lakeshore Sport & Fitness – Illinois Center), neighborhood condo building pools, and even in open water! We help swimmers of all ability levels develop swim technique skills indoors and swimming confidence outdoors to complete the epic 1-mile (out and back) Skyline Swim from Ohio Street Beach.

Our SKYLINE SWIM CLUB is a completely open and free “meetup” community for athletes and friends from all of our local triathlon clubs and swimming communities – and quite simply anyone who visits us at Ohio Street Beach! Join us to meet and make some new “swim buddies”, swim safer together, build up your swim confidence, and complete the Skyline Swim – a “rite of passage” for all swimmers and triathletes in Chicago to swim the length of the entire “Gold Coast” stretch of the Chicago Skyline to become official members of the Ohio Street Beach Skyline Swim Club!

NOTE: Chicago Beaches have designated open water swimming areas with lifeguards on duty from 11am-7pm starting on Memorial Day Weekend through Labor Day. This includes the Ohio Street Beach “Skyline Swim” and the Oak Street to Ladder 1 areas that are exclusive for swimmers (no boats allowed), however the “Oak Street Curve” entrance to the “playpen” area is off limits to swimmers as it has strong rip currents and boat traffic.
