The Chicago-based “CHICAGO IRON” community – known simply as the “IronMonsters” – is part of an official IRONMAN TRI CLUB under 4 STAR ENDURANCE, an official USA TRIATHLON (USAT) club. Our community traces it’s roots back to 2009, when it was created by Coach Chris Navin (now an official IRONMAN U coach, 22+ time Ironman and 150+ time triathlon finisher) as a spinoff between a group of diverse triathletes who were training at multiple facilities and communities including Vision Quest, TriMonster, and Fitness Formula Clubs. What united us back then was simply the idea of tackling a crazy big and “scary” challenge by making it a fun adventure with friends. #MakeNoSmallPlans and #LetsDoEpicSh*t
Uniting as one team across all of Chicagoland with additional athletes from other Chicago-area tri clubs including CHICAGO TRI CLUB (CTC), BFF BIKES, and TEAM TO END AIDS (T2) charity team, the “CHICAGO IRONMONSTER” community grew to became one of the largest and most successful IRONMAN TRI CLUB programs, winning the inaugural TRI CLUB CHAMPIONSHIPS at IRONMAN WISCONSIN, as well as at IRONMAN 70.3 STEELHEAD!
